Book Projects

Canadian Outdoor Press publishes books that explore the natural world, Canadian history, contemplative living, and the stories that connect people to place. We welcome both fiction and non-fiction that reflect these themes through lived experience, professional expertise, original research, practical knowledge, or compelling storytelling.

While our titles span a variety of subjects and genres, they are united by a shared interest in people, place, and the stories we tell about both.

We welcome inquiries from authors whose book projects align with our publishing interests.

We prefer to begin with an initial enquiry rather than a complete manuscript.

At this stage, we are not accepting unsolicited manuscripts. Instead, we invite authors to introduce their project with a brief query outlining the book, its current stage of development, and the author's background.

Initial enquiries should include:

  • A brief description of the project

  • The current stage of development

  • A short author biography

  • Any relevant expertise or publishing experience
